Denise Conine brings decades of experience in the door hardware and physical security industry to her role as a Senior Associate for Door + Hardware Consultants. Her career spans hands-on technical work, management, training, and product representation, reflecting deep expertise in Architectural Hardware, Access Control systems, and Key System design.
Denise holds several respected industry credentials, including Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC), Fire Door Assembly Inspector (FDAI), and Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL). In addition, she has dedicated over 25 years to training professionals in architectural hardware, access control, and key systems and is an ALOA-certified instructor. She has written articles for industry trade publications. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach.
Denise served many years as a Trades Supervisor overseeing the Lock Shop at the University of Southern California, managing complex security infrastructure, developing University standards and guiding technical staff across a large and demanding campus environment. Prior to USC, she learned her trade as a locksmith in the aerospace industry, supporting high-security environments and precision-driven operational needs.
Her earlier career includes years in wholesale distribution and as a manufacturer’s representative, giving her valuable insight into the supply chain, product development, and customer-facing aspects of the hardware industry. This breadth of experience enables her to bring a 360-degree perspective to every project and training session she leads.
